Cabinet gives nod for construction of new Kadri market building

Mangaluru, 08 Mar 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: The cabinet meeting held at Bengaluru on Wednesday March 7, among other things, gave its permission to the proposal to demolish existing dilapidated Kadri market complex standing on 25 cents of land in ward No. 33 in the city.

It also approved a proposal to build a new market building in the place of the existing one in 45 cents of land. The estimated cost of the new structure is Rs 12.30 crore.

Minister for parliamentary affairs, T B Jayachandra, gave this information to the media persons after the cabinet chaired by chief minister, Siddaramiaah, met on Wednesday.

Need for a new market complex at Kadri has been felt since long as the current building is in a bad state and it is inconvenient to vendors as well as customers.
